Arts Alliance Illinois is a new Cook County Small Business Source referral partner. Join us September 8th from 11am-12pm for a webinar highlighting Cook County Small Business Support Community Financial Institutions (CFIs), whose services and capital access are designed to meet the needs of small businesses (less than 20 employees) and micro businesses (less than 10).

Sasha Ongtengco, Creative Workforce Program Director with Arts Alliance Illinois will provide a Cook County Small Business Source program overview. She’ll be joined by Brianna Tellis, Senior Community Lender with Allies for Community Business (A4CB), to share more about the services they provide as a Cook County Small Business Source Community Financial Institution (CFI), as well as its other innovative programs and initiatives. We’ll also feature Kristi Mosbey, owner of Kenwood School of Dance, to share about their entrepreneurial journey and insights from working with A4CB and other community partners to grow their creative vision.

Speakers

Sasha Ongtengco

Sasha oversees Arts Alliance Illinois’ expansion into policy, advocacy and resource development to increase the economic stability of Illinois artists and creative workers. Her previous experience with nationally recognized workforce organizations such as Cara Collective, Chicagoland Healthcare Workforce Collaborative, and Talent Rewire focused on systems-level improvements from employer policy & practice change to public/private cross-sector partnerships, all aimed at lowering barriers to strengthen workers and small businesses. Sasha holds an Economics degree from DePaul University and is a 2019 Aspen Institute Economic Opportunities Fellow with the Chicagoland Workforce Leadership Academy. She also currently serves as board chair for Northwest Center in Chicago’s Belmont Cragin neighborhood. In her spare time, Sasha performs at open mics as a piano/vocalist, enjoys being an aunt, and hiking with her pitbull.

Brianna Tellis

Brianna Tellis is a Senior Community Lender at Allies for Community Business, committed to helping small business owners access the capital, resources, and support they need to succeed. She works closely with entrepreneurs to understand their unique goals and challenges, providing not only financing, but also connecting them to business coaches here at Allies for community business to help with guidance and strategic connections to help grow their business.

Kristi Mosbey

Kristi Mosbey is the Founder and Executive Director of the Kenwood School of Dance, located in the Southside of Chicago. Kristi has had the honor of serving the South Side of Chicago Youth for the last 15 years. Kristi is a retired professional dancer, choreographer, and dance educator specializing in Contemporary, Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Progressing Ballet Technique and Acrobatic Arts. She began dancing at the age of four and trained at the New Orleans Center for the Arts (NOCCA) before earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi.
