Getting to Springfield

Springfield is centrally located in Illinois, making it easily accessible by train or car.

Amtrak has trains operating between Chicago and St. Louis with a stop in Springfield. Check the Amtrak website for details and a hassle-free way to get right to the heart of downtown Springfield.

Springfield sits at the juncture of I-55 and I-72. No matter where you’re coming from in the state, your drive will be four hours or less (unless traffic deals you a bad hand). Google Maps can help you plan your drive.
