View the agenda for our upcoming convening taking place in San Juan, Puerto Rico on October 23-25.

Event Overview

Tactical Strategies That Work: Building Collective Power, Cultivating Community & Amplifying Advocacy in State Creative Economies

Based on valuable feedback from our 2023 members, the 2024 CSC Convening will focus on three key elements designed to strengthen our collective efforts and impact:

Building Collective Power: In-Person Relationship Building and Knowledge Sharing

  • Opportunities for Connection: Engage with fellow members through organized in-person meetings that foster relationships and facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences.

  • Knowledge Sharing Platforms: Share your initiatives, challenges, and successes, and learn from others to cross-pollinate strategies and solutions.

  • Site Visits and Panels: Participate in visits and panels showcasing alternative creative economies and innovative workforce models to inspire and educate.
  •

Amplifying Advocacy: Enhanced Learning and Discussion Sessions

  • Deep Dive Sessions: Gain insights into messaging, financial revenue models, and advocacy strategies through expanded sessions that allow for a deeper understanding of these critical topics.
  • Interactive Workshops: Join interactive discussions and workshops to explore issues, brainstorm solutions, and share practical tips and implementation strategies.
  • Extended Sessions: Benefit from longer sessions that provide more time for in-depth exploration and follow-up discussions on key topics identified by our members.

Cultivating Community: Network Building and Informal Exchanges

  • Structured Networking: Connect with peers nationwide through structured networking opportunities that foster a sense of community and collaboration.
  • Informal Exchanges: Take advantage of informal conversations and exchanges during breaks, meals, and site visits to build organic relationships and share knowledge.
  • Small Group Discussions: Engage in small group discussions and one-on-one meetings to delve deeper into specific topics of interest and forge meaningful connections among members.

We commit to understanding the history of the Taíno and all Indigenous peoples and strive to promote respect and equity for their descendants. We also acknowledge the ongoing impact of colonialism on the Indigenous peoples of Puerto Rico and stand in solidarity with them in their pursuit of justice and sovereignty.
