Starting now through August 2021!
Summer is here. Restrictions are lifting and things are opening back up. But some of our community still hasn’t been vaccinated. We are encouraging all of our members and the whole creative sector to get involved encouraging your communities to get vaccinated as a method of safely returning to arts activities.
The campaign, called #VaxToGetBack, is targeting arts organizations and enthusiasts throughout the state of Illinois. We invite you, our partners, to participate in the campaign by posting on Instagram and Facebook about how your organization is ready to get back to in-person arts appreciation — whether that’s hosting gallery openings or shows, plays, concerts, or any arts-focused activities. Your followers and community members need to get vaccinated in order to make that happen.
Use the hashtag #VaxToGetBack to encourage your followers to get vaccinated against Covid-19 and start enjoying the arts in-person again. Use the toolkit and assets linked below.
How To Participate
We’re asking you to post photos or imagery from past events alongside the provided #VaxToGetBack artwork — giving your followers a look at the valuable arts programming you provided prior to the pandemic and encouraging them to get vaccinated so you can return to safe, in-person arts events.
Below are some sample posts and posting instructions — please personalize as much as possible to your organization and encourage followers to share photos why they want to #VaxToGetBack. Please post as often as you’d like throughout the rest of the summer. If you’re looking for content for your social channels, sharing photos or imagery from previous events is a great way to share content and promote this campaign, so feel free to post as often as you’d like. You can also change your organization’s Facebook or Instagram profile photo or page banner to a provided #VaxToGetBack graphic!
Note: There are two different designs available in the social media images. These are options for you to choose from! Feel free to use any images from the toolkit you like, or change it up if you are posting multiple times over the summer.
We’ve also provided a lot of fun gifs, stickers, and other assets that are specific to social media platforms. Please feel free to stick with your comfort zone. We do not expect you to learn how to use Instagram stories if that’s not something you’re already using!
Can we actually make a difference?
Vaccine hesitancy is a complex issue, there are many different reasons an audience or community member may not yet be vaccinated. Our local and state health departments are trying a variety of approaches to help get people the information they need and get easy access to vaccination. We believe it’s important that all industries (particularly those of us who have been hard hit by the COVID-19 lockdowns) do their part to encourage folks to get vaccinated.
