The Illinois
Arts Alliance Foundation has either commissioned or managed the following
research. All of these are important for the arts community at a local,
state, and federal level.
-
Executive Compensation for Illinois Nonprofit Arts Leaders examines
compensation and benefits levels for arts leaders throughout Illinois.
Commissioned by IAAF and conducted by Diane Grams, Ph.D. of the Cultural
Policy Center at the University of Chicago, the study is the first
of its kind to include data on small organizations rather than focusing
solely on large institutions, thereby providing a more accurate picture
of the financial realities arts workers face.
- Working Together builds bridges between arts organizations
and local businesses in Chicago neighborhoods, such as Uptown, South
Shore and the South Loop, and in communities such as Rockford, Champaign-Urbana,
and Galena, stimulating grassroots support of the arts.
- Arts Leadership for the 21st Century
examines and addresses the impact of the coming generational shift of
power in local arts organizations through research and program components
such as a Succession Planning Tool Kit which will feature guidelines
and checklists for board members, models for strategic plans that include
succession planning, examples of succession dos and don'ts, resource
lists, and frequently asked questions.
- Funding the Arts - the primary objective of this
research is to gain a better understanding of the important role played
by area foundations through an effort that will document the arts giving
of grant making organizations over the 10 year period, with substantial
emphasis on the years of 1996-2000, due to the quality and consistency
of data for the final five years.
