On Friday, May 21, 2004, IAAF hosted the sixth annual Illinois Arts Legend Awards at the Museum of Contemporary Art Warehouse. The theme of the evening was SHOUT in celebration of Illinois' varied and vibrant artists and arts organizations. Norman R. Bobins, President and CEO of LaSalle Bank, N.A., received the Illinois Arts Legend Award for an Advocate, and William Petersen, a Chicago actor and star of the CBS hit series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, received the Illinois Arts Legend Award for an Artist. Benefit co-chairs were Joseph J. Ahern, President and General Manager of CBS 2 Chicago; Sheila King, President of Sheila King Marketing + Public Relations; John W. Rowe, Chairman, President and CEO of Exelon; and James C. Tyree, Chairman and CEO of Mesirow Financial. Chicago Sun-Times columnist and CBS 2 entertainment report Bill Zwecker was master of ceremonies. Sean Cannon and his team from Event Creative transformed the MCA Warehouse into a colorful celebration of the arts, and George Jewell Catering provided a delicious dinner and magnificent dessert buffet. Guests had the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind megaphones designed by Illinois artists and cultural organizations while listening to Moco Magano and dancing to the Michael Lerich Orchestra. Over 300 people attended the benefit, which raised critical funds to support the programs and activities of the Illinois Arts Alliance Foundation.
